Using geometric patterns common in Islamic art and architecture from the Middle East and North Africa as inspiration, Gohar Dashti and Hamed Noori, merge multiple videos of the North Atlantic Ocean, from Massachusetts Bay (US) and the Caspian Sea (IR).
As a project, this video is following their new series called “Near and Far” which creates a visual dialog between the nature of two cultures while presenting new fantastical and poetic interpretations of what a landscape can be.
