Near Seas, Far Seas

Using geometric patterns common in Islamic art and architecture from the Middle East and North Africa as inspiration, this project merges multiple videos of the North Atlantic Ocean, from Massachusetts Bay (US) and the Caspian Sea (IR).

As a project, this video expands on the Near and Far series, creating a visual dialogue between the nature of two cultures while presenting new, fantastical, and poetic interpretations of what a landscape can be.
